THE NEW LIBERAL DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR DAVENTRY WILL SIGN UP TO THE

‘CLEAN CAMPAIGN PLEDGE’.

Chris McGlynn the new Parliamentary candidate for Daventry constituency has signed up to the clean campaign pledge for the coming general election. He follows his fellow Liberal Democrat candidates for Northamptonshire to set clean standards for the forth coming election.

The pledge, signed by all Liberal Democrat candidates in Northamptonshire, commits the signatories to the following conditions:

• We will never lie to the electorate

• We will not make statements about our opponents without evidence to support them

• We will provide references for these statements on our web sites

• We will be honest about our past records, good and bad, and we will be open about the policies we would support as MPs.

• We will publish details of major donors to our campaigns

• We will never let electioneering stop us fighting for our constituents

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Local Liberal Democrats have chosen Chris McGlynn as the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Daventry constituency.

Chris replaces John Lathan as Daventry’s PPC, who unfortunately had to step down due to personal circumstances.

Chris is married to Val (Valerie), they have four children and five grandchildren and they have lived in Kettering for the last 23 years.

Chris was born in Northampton and has lived in Northamptonshire all his life, and has been a member of the Kettering Liberal Democrats for 16 years. He has served on the Kettering executive in a number of positions; at present he is the vice-chair. Chris has stood in almost all of the Kettering local elections, coming second in Wicksteed ward in the 2009 county elections.

Chris is greatly honoured to be the Liberal Democrats’ Parliamentary candidate for the Daventry constituency. Chris is gravely concerned that the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) does not appear to take into consideration the wishes of the people with the continual development and expansion in the area. There is a lack of infrastructure planning in the Daventry Constituency, together with high profile projects rather than dealing with many underlying problems in the area. “If elected as your MP I will push for a fairer society, in the interests of the many rather than the few”, said Chris today.
